-
This is the initial paperwork that includes the medical history of your child; this is one of the most important sections to fill out entirely to ensure an accurate medical background and thorough evaluation.
-
This step involves administering a standardized assessment based on your initial paperwork. This can range between 20-40 minutes, depending on the assessment. See below for more info.
-
The BEST part is weekly sessions! The first 4 sessions are reserved for establishing the 3 R’s: rapport, routine, and rules. Once we know each other, therapy sessions range in variety and structure, tailored to your child’s preferences.
-
We encourage parents to regularly communicate with their child’s SLP about their progress, goals, home carryover activities, and educational handouts.

AAC Evaluation
This is an extensive 6-month evaluation of the client’s ability to use a speech-generating device to communicate with intent. The SLP will use a variety of vocabulary programs, devices, and symbols over the span of a 3-month time frame.
The cost includes the time it takes for the SLP to trial different devices and vocabularies to properly select a device for the child, write a report supporting the equipment selection, and prove medical necessity.
**Due to the in-depth nature of this type of evaluation, your child must be attending speech therapy for a minimum of 3 months prior to the evaluation. **
